On & Off: Record of Student Fashion On and Off Campus

Football is an essential element of University of Oregon culture. So it comes as no surprise that the UO students are decked out each game with headbands, hats, wigs, onesies, vintage UO merch, and so much more. Themes are an essential way to unite duck fans and allow them to show support for the players demonstrated through the seas of green in the stadiums. It's also an incredibly easy way to spot the odd ones out. Numerous piss-drunk students get held back by their friends on the walk to Autzen Stadium while they shout obscenities at anyone wearing red or sporting a USC Jersey. But what we lack in class, we certainly make up for in spirit. Whether it be green, yellow, black, or tie dye, these Ducks put in the effort to show up and show out for their team each and every game. The USC v.s. UO game was no exception. The theme was black, the time was 12:30pm and all Ducks waited with baited breath for the kickoff.

In the end the Ducks triumphed 42-27, and we walked home with pride. We salute the 6AM soldiers who stayed up for College Gameday in the 37 degree weather to catch a glimpse of the back of Pat McAfee’s head. We salute the ones who pregamed at 11AM and still went out that Saturday night. Ducks stay dedicated, Ducks stay strong. Make sure to show out with your sunscreen and Duck gear for the spring game!
